By God's grace through faith, I repented of my sins and trusted in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord on March 30, 1998 (at the age of 41). I was baptized, joined, and became actively involved at First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL. God then clearly called me to be a Minister of the Gospel at the Greater St. Louis (MO) Billy Graham Crusade on October 14, 1999. I was a counselor at that event. Immediately after my calling, I wholeheartedly pursued my education (Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Divinity). Until my calling, I had absolutely NO desire to pursue higher education. God’s grace, however, radically changed my heart and mind. The Lord also dramatically changed my heart and mind about children. Until May 2004, while on a short term mission trip to Ecuador, I had no desire to have children. While on that trip, I got to know a missionary couple who had just adopted two children. This couple had been childless until then (like my wife and I had been) and they were a year older than I. By God’s amazing grace, He clearly led us to adopt a child (which my wife and I wholeheartedly completed in September 2006). Adopting this child blessed and changed our lives in so many wonderful ways. I now have a passion for family ministries. I genuinely desire to be obedient to God’s Word, especially in reference to the Greatest Commandment and the Great Commission. So much more to say, but I’ll stop for now with an, “Amen!” Contact Steve
