G3- Guys/Girls Growing in the Gospel

John Piper defines the Gospel as… “the good news that the everlasting and ever-increasing joy of the never-boring, ever-satisfying Christ is ours freely and eternally by faith in the sin-forgiving death and hope-giving resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

This Good News not only initiates our salvation but it sustains it as well. Paul describes this Good News as immeasurable and unsearchable (Eph. 2:7) As a result we will never exhaust the beauty, depth and nuances of the Gospel as it shapes us into the image of Christ. We can never give enough attention to it.

G3’s are gender specific small groups that meet weekly for the purpose of encouraging one another through Gospel-oriented:

  • Fellowship
  • Books
  • Prayer

Some defining characteristics of a G3:

  • Meets weekly in homes, church campus or “3rd place” (coffee shops, restaurant, businesses)
  • Small (10 or less preferably)
  • Informal (no lecture/standing teacher)
  • Books that are easy to work through by reading together as group
  • Defined beginning and end
  • Leader-facilitated discussion for application and growth
